An entertainment company in Los Angeles is hiring a Contract Programmer / Analyst for 9-15 months at $55 - 65/hour. If interested, there is potential for conversion to full-time employment with the customer after 6-12 months at an annualized salary of $95,000-$105,000 plus benefits.

This position will be responsible for performing technical systems analysis, including the creation of detailed design specifications, and programming for an artist payments system. He/she will work with the appropriate project lead and systems analyst to design, document, build, deploy and troubleshoot software solutions based upon defined business requirements.

• Design and document technical specifications based upon approved business requirements and functional specifications.
  
• Build new and/or modify existing software components as indicated by approved technical specifications.
  
• Update existing technical documents as changes are made to the system.
  
• Working within a team environment, provide technical support to system analysts in support of the creation of business requirements and/or functional specifications
  
• Support software environments for Production, User Acceptance Testing or Development by troubleshooting problems or issues within those environments.

• 5 or more years experience in SQL coding (Transact-SQL, T-SQL, TSQL). A significant amount of the developer’s work will involve creating new SQL stored procedures and modifying existing procedures
• Experience with web based software design using ASP
  

The above two requirements are the most important qualifications the candidate should posses. A 70/30 mix between SQL Server and ASP respectively would represent the ideal skill ratio balance.

• 3 or more years experience in development using Visual Basic or Visual Studio
  
• 3 or more years experience working with the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 relational database
  
• Experience with systems that support financial processing, preferably in a studio or large broadcaster environment
  
• Experience working with very large custom developed applications
  
• Experience working on systems that operate sophisticated calculation engines
  
• Experience in the entertainment industry is a plus
